User interface

Wow, there's so much stuff. Here's a quick tour to help you navigate Shy Editor's UI.

Shy Editor Main Interface

Shy Editor’s main writing interface is divided into 3 columns.

In the left column you have the Binder, which lets you navigate the projects. The middle section contains the text editor - this is your primary writing area. Finally, to the right is the Tools section, which contains the Shy Editor AI Assistant and other writing tools.

Binder

The binder displays the structure of your project and allows you to manage your sheets. See the page about the Binder for more information.

Writing Area

Use the editor in the writing area to write, read and edit your text.

You can select any text, or click the button next to any paragraph to bring up a context menu.

Writing Tools

Shy Editor offers an extensive array of tools that are designed to support the professional writer's workflow. You can read more about each of the available tools on their dedicated pages.

AI Assistant

The AI Assistant. To learn more about what the AI Assistant is capable of, check out the pages for the assistant chat, inline assistant, and advice.

Assistant Windows

Most AI responses will show up in an Assistant window. You can move these windows around the screen by dragging the header area. Learn more here

Search Window

The search window allows you to find various items within your project. You can learn more about how search works here.

Settings Window

The settings window allows you to configure the current project. You can read more about the various options here.
