History
This feature is only available to Shy Editor Pro subscribers
The History tool allows you to review changes, compare drafts, and restore previous versions for a more informed editing process.
Shy Editor periodically takes snapshots of your text while you write. The full list of these snapshots is displayed in the
History tool. You can also click the icon to manually
take a snapshot (for example, if you're about to make a major change).
Click the icon to restore a specific snapshot -
this will replace the text in your current sheet with the text in that snapshot.
You can also delete any snapshots that you no longer want, but be careful because there is no way to undo this.
Snapshot details
Click the title of any snapshot, or the icon to open
snapshot details. This will show the exact title and contents of that snapshot, as well as reveal some extra options.
The left part of the window shows the sheet history, so you can navigate between snapshots without opening and closing the window.
The "Show comparison" toggle at the bottom of the window enables the comparison view, which highlights the differences between the snapshot and the current text.
Click the icon at the bottom of the window
to add a name to the snapshot. Names help you distinguish important snapshots and separate them from the rest.
You can also restore and delete snapshots from the details window, just like in the main history view.
