Bibliography
The Bibliography tool automates the citation and bibliography creation process. It is intended to streamline the integration of references, and to ensure precision in citation generation and formatting.
The following citation styles are currently supported - APA, MLA, IEEE, Harvard and Chicago. The style you select will be used to format in-text citations and the references page.
The bibliography tool displays all sources that you've added to your current project.
You can click on any source to view and edit detailed information about it.
Click the icon to find the full PDF version of a source, if it's available online.
This will add a file to the file library.
Adding sources manually
Click the icon to add a source manually.
The exact fields that are available depend on the selected source type. None of the fields are mandatory, you can save the source at any time.
Enter as much information about the source as you can, then click "Add Source" to save it.
Source import
Click the icon to import a bibliography from a
file. Shy Editor currently supports importing sources from RIS, BibTeX, CSL JSON, and RDF files.
Once you select a file, you will have an opportunity to verify that the sources were parsed correctly before saving them to your project.
Source export
Click the icon to export your current bibliography
to a file or copy it to the clipboard. You can export your bibliography to RIS, BibTeX, and CSL JSON files.
If your bibliography contains any sources, they will automatically be added to a References page in the selected style when you export your project.
You can also share your bibliography publicly through ShyBib. ShyBib is a free standalone bibliography management tool by the Shy Editor team.
Finding sources

You will be provided with a list of possible sources you might want to reference within the selected text.
