Assistant overview

The Shy Editor AI Assistant is an artificially intelligent assistant that is deeply integrated into Shy Editor. It is designed to help you write faster, generate ideas, proofread your work, quickly find information contained within your Shy Editor projects, and much more.

The Assistant is optimized specifically for writing tasks, is aware of your actions in real time, and maintains a deep understanding of your writing projects. In practice, this means you will get better, more relevant responses than using generic AI tools.

Each basic request to the AI assistant costs 1 AI credit. Some advanced features, such as Deep Research, or Full Project Feedback, can cost more, as shown in the UI. When using the AI chat, sometimes a response might require the AI to automatically make several requests based on how many words it needs to read or write.

All users receive 20 free credits per month, and you receive 500 credits per month when you subscribe to Shy Editor Pro. You can also purchase additional credits if you need to.

If you do not want to use the assistant in a project, you can turn it off in the project settings.
